Woods' progressive youngster scores off a perfect Clark ride
Tim Clark went to the races thinking he if gave the Sean Woods-trained Hear The Roar a decent ride he would win. The Australian held up his end of the bargain and Hear The Roar did the rest in a Class Three Handicap (1,800m). Jumping from an awkward gate (11), Clark managed to position the progressive four-year-old one-off the fence. 'It just worked out perfect being able to slot in seventh or eighth and he sprinted well with the 130 pounds,' Clark said. Woods said the son of High Chaparral could compete when he steps into Class Two next start. 'I think he will probably hold his own,' Woods said. 'He is only a young horse who had limited racing in England so we'll look for him to improve a lot this year.'
