The most impressive victory of the day was left to John Size's debutant Glorious Days in the sixth, who rescued an otherwise forgettable afternoon for champion jockey Douglas Whyte. Size and Whyte had short-priced Croesus and Supreme Jewellery beaten out of the placings, but Glorious Days didn't let anyone down in strolling home at his local debut, coming off an impressive victory first- up in New Zealand. 'Even though that win in New Zealand was 1,200m, I felt that would be too sharp for him so we went to 1,400m first-up and he looked a very professional racehorse,' Size said. 'For an inexperienced horse, you couldn't have asked for much more than he did today.'
