Rabbits fly and horses hover in a new art exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Hong Kong Award for Young People.

Hong Kong artist and designer Margaret Chu Cheuk-wai handcrafted the creatures to reflect the active spirit of the award.

To qualify for a gold, silver or bronze award, each young person has to complete required tasks in four categories within a year. These include social services, skills development, outdoor challenges and physical recreation.

Britain's Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, opened the exhibition last week. It runs until November 27 at K11 Art Mall.

Suki Wong Lok-yiu, one of last year's gold award winners, said hiking with a group of four girls in the freezing wilderness during Lunar New Year was unforgettable. 'It trained us to plan for ourselves and never give up.'
