Joyce Grooming

It's no longer enough for a man to start his day with just a shave and some moisturiser. No, with androgyny now spreading its sexless form into the male world and many brands reconfiguring their once-female products for both genders, the flood of gentlemen's beauty salons throughout the city heralds a change in the world of grooming. The latest comes from local luxury fashion retailer Joyce, with its male-focused salon, Joyce Grooming, due to open in The Landmark on November 17.

Billing itself as a complete lifestyle experience for the modern man, the salon goes beyond the now-ubiquitous range of classic shaving instruments and products. Men will find a selection of luxury skin and hair products, facial and body treatments, personalised scents and fragrances, and health and well-being offerings. There are even such potentially emasculating offerings as eyebrow shaping and mani-pedis.

In addition, Joyce Grooming offers a wide variety of take-home products for morning and evening routines, including luxury brands such as Czech & Speake, Frederic Malle, Izola, Kyoku, Laura Mercier and Perricone MD. Among the highlighted products on offer is the Clarisonic Grey, the male version of the sonic skin cleaning system. It's designed to help men apply shaving cream and prevent post-shave irritation, while providing a 'micro-massage' for deep cleansing.
