Johanna Ho kicks off new shoe tie-up, and reveals little inspirations behind her designs
A champion of local fashion-production studios, designer Johanna Ho has added shoemaker-boutique Titikaka to her long list of Hong Kong- and mainland-based collaborators. At the launch of the Titikaka x Johanna Ho collection along with Ho's newest line of punk-rock-inspired footwear on Tuesday, Ho revealed that there were two other, mini, collaborators behind the designs.
'My daughters have always been a part of my creative process,' Ho said at the launch party, as her elder daughter, four-year-old Natasha, mingled with guests and posed for the cameras. 'The younger one is two, and I bring them both to the office regularly. They will be happily drawing and glueing things right next to me while I work.'
Ho said that the fun, glittery feel of the crossover collection was inspired by some of the art and craft sessions she's had with her girls, who love everything shiny and sparkly at the moment.
'Natasha is a natural poser as well,' Ho added. 'We did a photo shoot together once, and she just came up with all these poses that I certainly never taught her. In fact, when the photographer was done with her and started with me, he asked me if I would just pose like my daughter, and I had to tell him, 'I don't know how'.'
