Hong Kong bowed out in the Cup quarter-finals at the Noosa International Sevens, losing 33-12 to the Aussie Thunderbolts. Then, in an exhibition game against pre-tournament favourites Red Rock from Fiji, the Rowan Varty-led team won 17-12. 'You can't complain with four wins and one loss, especially when that loss was close considering they led 19-12 until the last few minutes. But this trip is all about playing against top-class opposition as we build up to the Hong Kong Sevens and hopefully the Japan Sevens,' coach Dai Rees said. The 14-strong Hong Kong squad will stay on in Australia and participate in a training camp before taking part in the Gold Coast Sevens this weekend.
