Kevin Cheng looks the part as top acting award beckons

TVB recently announced the nominations for its upcoming TVB Anniversary Awards, and Kevin Cheng Ka-wing is the favourite to take the prize for best actor, for his performance as a barrister in the series Ghetto Justice.

The 42-year-old heartthrob acknowledged his favoured odds - citing just two other actors, Michael Tse Tin-wah and Wayne Lai Yiu-cheung, as 'formidable foes' despite TVB announcing 15 nominees - when he was a special guest at the opening ceremony of travel accessories brand Tumi's shop in Pacific Place on Thursday.

Cheng had been flying back and forth between Beijing and Hong Kong recently, and said Tumi made his accessories of choice. The new shop will display a sporty line of travel cases being made in collaboration with Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati when the line is unveiled at the end of the month. Following that theme, iPads with a motorcycle game have been placed in the store and an actual motorbike was parked at the entrance for the opening.

Cheng, being a good brand ambassador, dressed the part in a leather biker jacket.

'It's a complete reversal of my [Ghetto Justice] character,' said Cheng, who is now filming the second series.
