Dynamic Blitz drawn to get every chance in Taipa
Hong Kong's dirt-track specialist Dynamic Blitz is aiming for more international group glory in Macau tonight, where he is on trial for a return trip to Dubai early next year, the scene of his greatest triumph.
The Ricky Yiu Poon-fai-trained sprinter has drawn perfectly in barrier two for the Group One Macau Sand Premier Cup (1,300m) in Taipa. Dynamic Blitz is a different animal on all-weather surfaces - as shown by his victory in February's Al Shindagha Sprint in Dubai - and has been handicapped out of race's on Sha Tin's all-weather track.
Demonstrating the horse's disparity in ability from dirt to turf, since returning from Dubai, Dynamic Blitz has started at more than 95-1 at his two starts on the grass, both unplaced efforts. Olivier Doleuze hopes the seven-year-old would relish the Taipa sand as much as he thrived on Dubai's Tapeta surface.
'The sand is different to the all weather and Dubai, and there is some rain about here, but it should not affect the surface and I think he should handle it,' Doleuze said.
'His work was good and even though 1,300m is more like 1,400m on turf, he is always nice and relaxed which will help him get the trip.'
Dynamic Blitz is the highest rated runner in a 12-horse field for the invitational event, and one of four international raiders.
Australian Listed sprint winner Eclair Mystic is entered along with two English horses - Majestic Myles and Doncaster Rover.
