What I'm reading: John Hegarty's Turning Intelligence Into Magic is a refreshing take on the history of advertising. I'm also slowly getting through Marcus Clarke's epic novel For the Term of His Natural Life about the brutality of colonial times, as well as The 4-Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss, which I'm hoping will help as I need the extra time to finish the first two books.

What I'm listening to: absolutely everything, thanks to digital radio applications for my phone. But in particular Datarock, English producer Ghostpoet, Nick Cave and Cold Chisel - I'm a big fan of Jimmy Barnes.

What I'm watching: mostly gangster TV dramas such as Underbelly and Sons of Anarchy. But now that Laughing Gor [a character in a TVB series] has finished, I've become quite addicted to It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Where I'm surfing: Chinasmack.com, mainly because it is so bizarre, and of course thedailyshow.com - Jon Stewart has the best news team.

Where I've been travelling: I just finished a huge camping and surf trip down the coast of France, across the Pyrenees and into northern Spain and the Basque country with my brother for his 30th birthday. We slept outside every night for three weeks. Loved it.
