On style, she rules

I am looking for the perfect pair of cigarette trousers that are super-fitted, cropped and tight at the ankle. Am thinking I may have to get it tailored unless you can suggest brands that have some?

Smokin' Hot, Aberdeen

The Dictator rules: It's a good thing we keep your identity secret. Unless you want to receive hate mail and death threats, you really shouldn't go around telling everyone that your legs are too skinny. Do you know how many women would kill to have that problem? Or, wait a minute, are you one of the many women who have acquired a middle roll that ruins the fit and proportions of all your clothes? Either way, I'd be surprised (and ever-so-slightly annoyed) if one of the below suggestions didn't work for you. CK Calvin Klein categorises its Scuba suiting trousers as 'extreme skinny leg' (HK$2,590; Times Square, Causeway Bay, tel: 2526 8808); they're part of the current collection, which includes an array of very slim-cut trousers in various materials and colours (HK$1,990 to HK$2,990). DKNY's skinny trousers for autumn-winter come in racy red (HK$2,590; Fashion Walk, Causeway Bay, tel: 2890 2799); as do the affordable H&M ones in satin stretch fabric, part of a selection of slim-fit trousers by the Swedish fast-fashion retailer (HK$299 each; 68 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2110 9546). We were happily surprised to find an impressive range of casual to formal options at Burberry (Times Square, tel: 2506 2844), such as the Burrington skinny-fit trousers in khaki (HK$2,200); metallic zip stretch trousers in black (HK$3,400) and slim-fit black leather trousers (HK$15,500), to name a few. If none of those are tight enough, visit the following in this order: your doctor, your trainer, Stella McCartney, Yves Saint Laurent, Bess and then your tailor.

I'm looking for Jennifer Aniston's perfume but can't seem to find it anywhere. Am I going blind or do I have to order it?

Jen-uinely Interested, Mid-Levels

The Dictator: Is this a joke? I didn't even know Jennifer Aniston had a fragrance. I couldn't possibly comment on your eyesight, but can we talk about your taste? Why am I surprised? If every other girl in the 1990s went for that dreadful Rachel haircut, inspired by her character on Friends, then it follows that you should all be suckers for the marketing of a perfume in her name. It was launched last year and was named Lolavie at some point before it became Jennifer Aniston Eau de Parfum. Being a true fan, as you claim to be, I guess you've already seen the quote supposedly from Aniston: 'I wanted this fragrance to be a personal library of scent memories. For example, my love of night-blooming jasmine has lasted a lifetime. Growing up in California, I distinctly remember the scent of jasmine on summer evenings.'

And if you want an idea of what it actually smells like, the predominantly floral scent is made with rose water, jasmine, violet and Amazon lily, with additional notes of citrus, musk, amber and sandalwood. The pretty, clear glass bottle is said to reflect the actress' high-brow interest (who knew?) in architecture, such as the work of Frank Gehry, and the crest of a wave. At least, that's what I've read because I haven't found it in Hong Kong, either. So, stop wasting time and just order it online already, would you? (About HK$740 for 85ml at Amazon.com).
