The former Philippine president set out for Singapore to undergo medical treatment but only made it as far as the airport VIP lounge before the government blocked her departure. Then on Friday, the Commission on Elections charging her with rigging the 2007 senatorial vote. She was arrested as she lay in a Manila hospital, where she is currently 'in custody'.

It was a dire day for soccer when the Independent Commission Against Corruption swooped on the Hong Kong team at Tuesday's under-21 international against Russia at Mong Kok Stadium. Substitute Iu Wai, a member of Hong Kong Sapling, was arrested and others are under investigation for match-fixing. Some of Iu's teammates said they were approached to throw the match but instead reported the incident.

Ai Weiwei

After paying an 8.6 million yuan (HK$10.5 million) guarantee so he can challenge tax charges, the dissident artist now faces investigation for possessing pornography. Ai said it concerns a series of pictures, titled One tiger, eight breasts, posted on the internet more than a year ago and featuring the artist and four naked women, all of whom volunteered to pose.
