Kitchee fire blanks but still regain top spot in table

Champions Kitchee regained their top spot in the table despite being held to a goalless draw by Citizen in their BMA First Division clash at Mong Kok Stadium yesterday. Hong Kong international Lam Ka-wai made his first appearance of the season after recovering from a nagging thigh injury to strengthen Kitchee's midfield. However, the second half substitute was unable to make an impression in an evenly contested first division match. 'This is only my first game of the season and I need more matches before I can become fully fit,' said the midfielder, who suffered the thigh injury during the close of last season. 'The season is very competitive, as the teams are close. It won't be easy for us as defending champions. We will play South China in the middle of next month and I hope I can get myself match fit for the crucial match.'
