The cuanbei group, as they call themselves, help one another buy 'treasures'. The treasures refer to the local specialities of various places.
Zhang Feng, 22, an engineer in Guangzhou, likes the idea of cuanbei. He says this buying pattern first started in Europe and the United States.
'People would buy local specialities and resell them because it is much cheaper for them to purchase the products,' Zhang says. 'A bottle of perfume costs Euro10 [HK$106] in France, but nearly 300 yuan [HK$367] in mainland China.'
