First it was a cake shop, tucked away on Sheung Wan's Gough Street.

Now, style guru Bonnie Gokson is making her presence felt in another hip part of town.

Gokson opened her latest cafe-bar, c'est la B, in Tai Hang's Tung Lo Wan Road on Thursday.

It seats 30 diners and the menu features more than 30 of her signature cakes, pies, salads and baguettes.

'I like these neighbourhoods that have character,' said Gokson, who has plenty of friends living in the area. 'I didn't used to come here but then I was brought here by a friend. Now I'm here all the time.'

Guests at the opening party savoured bite-sized espresso jellies, cappuccino panna cotta, and apple crumble with cheddar cheese - washed down with free-flowing champagne.

Instead of a lion dance there were drummers to mark the occasion.

And, ever the stylish one, Gokson accessorised with show-stopping giant beads and bangles.
