The Japanese drama Patisserie Coin de Rue taps into our craving for delicious treats.

Natsume (Yu Aoi), the daughter of a baker in Kagoshima, travels to Patisserie Coin de rue, a famous pastry shop in Tokyo, to see her boyfriend. Once she arrives, however, she learns he no longer works there.

Desperate to find him, Natsume takes up a job at the Coin de Rue under the guidance of owner and chef Yuriko (Keiko Toda).

Meanwhile, legendary pastry chef Tomura (Yosuke Eguchi) has retired. He now works as a lecturer and pastry critic.

He frequents Coin de Rue, where he is friends with Yuriko. Tomura is haunted by an incident that made him give up baking several years earlier.
