It might sound a bit far-fetched - model Vanessa Yeung Tsang turning up at the launch of a Scottish pop-up store. But Yeung has quite a soft spot for everything Scottish.

The beauty was guest of honour at the opening of Museum Context, a concept store established by Edinburgh-based, award-winning interior designers Andrew and Alice McRae.

The design duo flew in for the event to meet reporters and VIPs. They took the guests on a tour of the store and even presented a demonstration of assembling the popular boat-in-a-bottle model.

The store is open until January 21 in the Landmark mall and features a collection of home decor items of vintage or retro design, including traditional games.

In a discussion with the designers, Yeung shared her experiences of travelling in Scotland.

What impressed her most, Yeung said, was the locals' New Year festivities.

'It was very memorable. The locals give their friends a pack of coal, bread and scotch on New Year's Eve,' she said.

Chances are, instead of the sticking to the usual traditions, Yeung will be knocking at her friends' doors at New Year with a gift bag filled with retro designer goodies made in Scotland.
