Luxury food hampers are always a welcomed gift for family, friends and colleagues. This year's hampers from some of the city's top hotels are packed with home-made seasonal sweets and savouries as well as eastern delicacies favoured by Hong Kong epicureans.
The Mandarin Oriental offer two featuring the hotel's home-made products, such as X0 sauce, rose petal jam and cookies. The East and West Hamper (HK$3,288) also includes bird's nest, Chinese mushrooms, Maldon sea salt, Christmas pudding, stollen and wines while The Deluxe Gourmet Hamper (HK$4,288) includes foie gras, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, wine and Christmas goodies. At the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, choose from the Grand Celebration hamper (HK$2,988), Billecart Salmon NV (France), home-made chocolate, Coles' English Christmas pudding, panettone, home-made potted truffled foie gras, or the Grand Occasion hamper (HK$2,488) with M. The Peninsula offers four hampers. The Ivy (HK$1,288) Holly (HK$1,888), Christmas Rose (HK$2,288) and Pine (HK$2,888) all include chocolates, cookies, stollen, and tea with extras according to which one you choose. Ivy extras include Christmas ornaments; Holly contains jam and a bear mug; Christmas Rose has Champagne truffles and a stocking stuffed with cookies, and Pine includes a Santa Claus bear. JW Marriott offers five choices starting with the Platinum Hamper (HK$1,288) filled with traditional goodies such as chocolates, panettone and plum pudding. The Ruby Hamper (HK$1,688) has a bottle of Genestet Reserve Rouge AOC from France and the Emerald Hamper (HK$2,288) a bottle of Stonier Pinot Noir from Australia and Louis Jadot Chablis from France. The Coral Hamper (HK$3,688) includes Italian coffee, a bottle of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and Moet Champagne.
