Father Christmas and his female elves were out all week to raise money for the SCMP's Operation Santa Claus. 'The timing of the event lends itself perfectly to supporting this worthy charity and it was even better this year as the event is in December and we could bring Santa in from the North Pole to Fanling,' Kathryn Shih, chief executive, wealth management, at UBS Asia Pacific said. 'We put in place our largest number of charity initiatives on-event in 2011, which perfectly aligns with our own initiatives to try to raise the profile of golf and the tournament. Last year, we raised HK$249,000 and we are hoping to better that.' Fanling fans could get their picture taken with Santa, pose with the trophy and take part in a mini-golf challenge. UBS offered to donate HK$20,000 if any player hit a hole-in-one on the 15th and although no one did, they still presented OSC with the cheque.
