Celebrity mums get kids hooked early on designer clothes
They've got their own smartphones and designer toys - and some kids even get a taste of high fashion from a young age.
Having launched a range of children's wear in November last year in Hong Kong, Italian fashion house Gucci recently opened boutiques in Harbour City and at Causeway Bay's Lee Gardens.
The celebrity mums were out in force at its cocktail party to open the new store at Lee Gardens Two on Saturday. They included actress Anita Yuen Wing-yee, model Qiqi Yam and Fan Jiang, long-time girlfriend of veteran singer-actor Chung Chun-to (aka Kenny Bee).
Their kids sported monogram one-piece dresses and tiny versions of their mums' designer purses.
To celebrate the opening, Gucci donated US$1 million to Unicef for its Schools for Africa project.
Unicef ambassador Gigi Leung Wing-kei received greeting cards made by guests at the event on behalf of children in Africa who have benefited from the programme.
With Canto-pop stars including Kelly Chen Wai-lam and Andy Lau Tak-wah expecting babies next year, newly-wed Leung, who is a twin, said she was keen to start a family of her own - hopefully with twins.
