One of the world's biggest and most opulent super-yachts, whose deck is regularly peppered with the rich and famous, is docked at the Gold Coast in Tuen Mun.

Media tycoon Rupert Murdoch was spotted on the vessel with family and friends this summer in Majorca, Spain, while Hollywood leading man Leonardo DiCaprio has been reported cruising around Australia in it.

Bart Kimman, the CEO of Asia Yacht Services, agents for the dreamboat while it is in Hong Kong, said the mystery owner would be joining the vessel before it shipped out on Saturday, having arrived with only its crew of 11. The boat's crew, its agent and its manufacturer, Alloy Yachts, all refused to name the owner.

Launched in May, the pleasure boat took 29 months to build. Since leaving Auckland, New Zealand, it had visited various Pacific islands before arriving in Hong Kong on Sunday. It is registered in the Marshall Islands.

Its tall masts dwarf the other boats at the Gold Coast Yacht and Country Club. The 67.2 metre long behemoth, nicknamed the Big One, can reach a speed of 20 knots, or 37 km/h.

It boasts five bedrooms, with the master bedroom featuring a walk-in closet. Also on board is a jacuzzi, gym and an interior by designer Christian Liaigre.
