Simplify
by Joshua Becker
Self-published (e-book)

Minimalism is fast becoming the failsafe way to salvation. Simplify is yet another title about the near godly benefits of living without excess and disorganisation. Unlike his more aggressive (and miserable) fellow authors, Joshua Becker takes the middle path by calling himself a 'rational minimalist'; if you walked into his home, he claims, you would not immediately know that his family lived minimalist lives because there would be children's toys on the floor, a variety of clothing in the closet, books and, shock, a television. So for Becker the word means living with things valued, without clutter, with simple beauty, without spending unwisely. Not for him then, is listing all his possessions and eliminating all but 100. Packrats looking for an out might find parts of the book helpful. On a cheerful note, they might also consider purging their homes so no one else has to do it for them upon death. However, the best reason for leading an anti-consumerist life is the statistic that we spend one year of our lives looking for lost items. For more of the same visit www.becomingminimalist.com
