Car driver charged with murder after accident

A 61-year-old man will appear in Eastern Magistrates' Court today on one count of murder, following his arrest on Friday over a fatal traffic accident at The Peak on November 26. A car driven by the arrested man allegedly reversed into the two men, aged 24 and 45, inside a car park on Pollock's Path, killing the older man.

Angry residents protest over racecourse tower

A group of more than 20 residents at Jubilee Garden in Fo Tan protested against the Jockey Club's plan to build a new tower near the Sha Tin Racecourse by driving around it yesterday afternoon. They said the new building would block some residents' views and promote gambling. Lawmakers will meet with Jockey Club representatives and government officials today to discuss the matter.

Crash death family performs mourning ritual

Relatives of the 60-year-old woman and 42-year-old man killed when a Hong Kong tour bus bound for the northeastern city of Harbin slid off a road and down a slope on Friday, held mourning ceremonies at the crash scene yesterday. The husband and wife of the two were also hurt in the accident.
