The city's Twihards be alerted! The months of waiting and drooling over leaked film stills of Bella and Edward's big day and their baby daughter Renesmee are about to come to an end.

The opening of the much-anticipated Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1 is finally upon us, but the even better news is that Twilight star Peter Facinelli will be in town on Wednesday for a charity premiere.

Facinelli (pictured), whose character Dr Carlisle Cullen transformed Edward into a vampire in the first place, will greet fans in the AMC cinema in Pacific Place.

Tickets are selling fast but there are still a few available for the gala night.

The proceeds will go to FilmAid Asia, which aims to reach the world's most vulnerable communities with inspiring messages, address their needs and push forward social changes through video and film.

The premiere starts at 9.30pm and tickets cost HK$500, available on www.filmaid.org/asia
