Gigi Chan, Asia Pacific equities fund manager, Threadneedle Investments
Chan, who has relocated from London to Singapore, is the first of Threadneedle's investment team to be based in Asia. 'We believe it's important to have fund managers on the ground in the region to be closer to our investor base,' says Raymundo Yu, Threadneedle's Asia Pacific chairman. Chan joined Threadneedle in 2000 and is a fund manager specialising in Asian equities.
Maggie Choi, managing director - Hong Kong and International, Touchmedia
Choi has more than 25 years of experience. She was named by AdAge as one of the three leading 'Media Innovators' worldwide and was voted one of the 10 'Most Influential Media Professionals of the Last Decade' by the industry. 'There is no-one I admire more in media than [Choi] and we are delighted that she is joining us,' says Micky Fung, founder and CEO of Touchmedia.
Chizoba Nnamchi, CEO - Central Africa, DHL Global Forwarding
In his new role, Nnamchi is responsible for the air and ocean freight business in Ghana, Angola, Nigeria, Gabon, Cameroon and the Republic of the Congo. 'Central Africa is a key growth region of DHL Global Forwarding. It is timely to have [Nnamchi] on board with us to take the business to the next level,' says Thomas Nieszner, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Nnamchi joins DHL Global Forwarding from 3M Company where he had extensive international business management exposure, covering Asia Pacific in his most recent assignment while based in Singapore for eight years. He has also lived and worked in Egypt, Pakistan, Oman and India and has more than 20 years of experience in the oil and energy, mining and technology sectors.
Geoff Raby, senior adviser, Kreab Gavin Anderson
Raby, the former Australian ambassador to China, adds the senior advisory role with Kreab Gavin Anderson to his other commitments. Judy Yang, general counsel, Sun Life Hong Kong
Yang will oversee the compliance, legal and corporate secretarial functions. She has strong experience as a legal professional, with 17 years spent with Manulife, latterly as senior counsel for Greater China. She has also worked in litigation and commercial tenancy. Yang obtained her bachelor of law and post-graduate certificate in laws from the University of Hong Kong.
Tony Yu, chief technology officer, Charm Communications
Through this newly created position, Yu will support the strategic development of Charm's digital initiatives and spearhead the company's corporate information technology (IT) infrastructure. '[Yu's] in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience regarding internet trends in China and the US will help guide the expansion of our digital advertising capabilities,' says He Dang, the company's founder, chairman and chief executive officer.
