With Christmas Day only a week away, now is the time to get your pet a little something special. For the dog or cat that has everything, here are a few Christmas ideas to bark about.

At Whiskers N Paws (www.wnp.com.hk) in Ap Lei Chau, the Dog Gone Smart Bed is virtually stain-resistant. It's made of a material that repels water, grime and coat oil, so any accident or plain doggie dirt simply washes off. The bed, in various colours and sizes, also has a bacteriostatic feature that reduces odours. As most cats in Hong Kong lead a life of leisure, the Catit Design Senses Food Maze is a challenging feeding product that tests your feline's mental and physical ability. The food maze pits the animal against a three-level maze. By using its paw, your pet can manoeuvre the food out of the side openings, which then drops to the food tray at the bottom. Owners can also vary the level of difficulty by increasing or decreasing the number of openings.

If your cat has had a hard day lounging around the apartment, the Catit Design Senses Massage Center aims to provide perfect pampering and relaxation. The product features a stimulator to massage and clean the teeth and gums, sculpted body stroke pads to massage the face and back, and an acupressure mat around the base that provides pressure-point massages to the paws.

If you want to be the leader of the pack, check out the Cesar Millan Pro Walkie Belt. It's a utility belt that includes reinforced sides with steel carabiners so that you can attach a dog weighing up to 15kg to the belt. During training sessions, there is a large treat pouch for tasty rewards. The belt comes with built-in scented, biodegradable tidy bags and anti-bacterial hand wipes.

For owners who want to spread their Christmas cheer, Puplicity (www.puplicityhk.com), a dog boutique in SoHo, is stocking a number of festive options. A Santa suit comes in red velvet with fake white fur trim, and Velcro fastening at the chest. Light padding also keeps the dog's body extra warm.

Another festive outfit is the Christmas jumper in red with silver crocheted edges and an embroidered Christmas tree with sequin baubles. Also available are Santa bandanas for dogs and cats.

When it's time to a sit-down at the Christmas table, your dog doesn't have to feel left out. Pour out a bottle of Castello di Fido from Napa Valley, which is filled with organic, preservative free chicken pot-pie flavoured biscuits,

At Pawette (www.pawette.com.hk), the dog-grooming salon, spa and boutique in NoHo (north of Hollywood Road), there are plenty of Christmas goodies for dogs. It has a range of Santa-themed outfits, a cookie pack of Christmas-inspired shapes and soft Christmas dog toys that include Santa Claus, Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer and a snowman.
