Mickael Barzalona may have yet to improve on his only winner, but he showed a clean pair of heels dodging a potential careless-riding charge, while Maxime Guyon was not as lucky and nor were Brett Prebble and Jeff Lloyd. Many expected Barzalona to be charged over his ride on fourth-placed Castle Hero in the eighth race, but he escaped with a warning. Stewards were not as kind over Lloyd's effort on Hot Asset in race one, which earned him a two-day ban and HK$25,000 fine, Guyon's - two-day ban - steering on Eight Plus Nine in the last race or that of Prebble - two days and a HK$40,000 fine - on Bear Hero in the Griffin Trophy. Prebble and Lloyd will do their time after the January 1 meeting.
