Another glitch hits Lantau cable car

A technical fault left passengers on the Lantau cable car hanging in mid-air for six minutes at about 2pm yesterday. Service was stopped for two hours, resuming at 4.15pm. The glitch follows a December 8 incident in which passengers were stranded for 16 minutes by a fault.

Members launch new centre-left political party

A new centre-left political party, the Labour Party, was launched yesterday. Unionist lawmaker Lee Cheuk-yan was elected unopposed as chairman and is supported by two deputies, Civic Act-up lawmaker Cyd Ho Sau-lan and former Civic Party legislator Fernando Cheung Chiu-hung.
