Rock into 2012

Ring in the New Year with a bang at Olympian City's Rock the World show. From 8pm on Saturday, Canto-pop stars Denise Ho Wan-see and Joey Yung Cho-yee, the world's fastest guitar player John 'Dr Hot Licks' Taylor and eight bands will have you rocking and headbanging as you wait for the clock to strike 12. Who wouldn't want to count down to 2012 with celebrities and a man who calls himself Dr Hot Licks?

Kicking off the New Year

For those whose New Year's resolution is to become a better soccer player, we have the perfect training partner for you. Labelled as the 'football boot with a brain', the adidas adiZero F50 comes with miCoach Speed_Cell - a device that measures and records data such as speed, distance, total steps and stride rates. The data can be sent wirelessly from the shoe to the miCoach Football iPhone/iPod app, which turns the information into easy-to-read graphics. The adidas adiZero F50 and Speed_Cell can be bought (together or separately) at adidas shops and Futbol Trend outlets.

Unreal Disney adventures

Keep guests entertained at your New Year's Eve countdown party with the Xbox 360's Kinect Disneyland Adventures. Players can bring characters to life on a walk through the amusement park, taking in the rides and even giving Mickey Mouse a hug on the way. You also get to complete tasks with your favourite Disney characters.

While it's not exactly the same as being at Disneyland, it's pretty close. The best part is that you can visit the park as often as you want and not have to wait in line for rides, all in the comfort of your own home. The game is available at HMV.

Toast to good times

The weather might be a bit crisp but you shouldn't spend the last day of 2011 cooped up indoors. Pack up some drinks and sandwiches and head out to the green lawn in Cyberport for a picnic in the sun with friends. Or make your way to one of the outdoor barbecue spots around town to cook some chicken wings and hot dogs over a roaring fire.
