Saving the planet from power-hungry aliens
Barry C Chung
Don't they ever learn? Aliens, that is. And don't they have any consideration for our holiday schedule? We've just rung in the New Year and those pesky aliens are at it again. This time in Chris Gorak's 3D sci-fi thriller The Darkest Hour.
A group of young people visit Moscow mostly for business. They throw a party at an underground venue, just when the city is attacked by aliens, but they somehow survive. It turns out the aliens have not landed on Earth to make friends. Their mission is to absorb the planet's entire power supply, and wipe out all life on Earth.
They have not counted on the young group: Sean (Emile Hirsch), Natalie (Olivia Thirlby), Anne (Rachael Taylor), Ben (Max Minghella) and Skyler (Joel Kinnaman). The group decides to fight back - but face a huge problem: the aliens are invisible.
They can see you, but you can't see them. With the odds stacked against them, humans must take on the deadly aliens in an all-out battle to prevent the planet's destruction.
