Social scene beckons for holiday-weary tai-tais back in the city
After a restful holiday out of the limelight, the city's tai-tais did not waste time returning to the scene to be seen.
Cosmetics brand Estee Lauder invited socialites to lunch at the Grand Hyatt hotel ballroom in Wan Chai, for a promotion on its signature 'advanced night repair face serum'.
Olympic diving champion Guo Jingjing stole the show on Wednesday in a flirty red floor-length Escada gown. She was the centre of attention thanks to rumours that she would finally tie the knot with long-time boyfriend Kenneth Fok Kai-kong, son of lawmaker for sports Timothy Fok Tsun-ting. The couple, who have been dating since 2004, are rumoured to be planning an October wedding. Although Guo rarely makes public appearances, she knows how to play the game. 'I'm not saying,' she said. 'You'll find out in October whether it's true or just another rumour.'
As the ladies ate, six models took part in a fashion show draped in creations by local designer Henry Lau Chi-wah.
