Derek Leung Ka-chun missed nothing in the eight races after being stood down from riding with an upset stomach, but the upset wouldn't have got any better just the same. None of Leung's remaining rides won for replacement jockeys after he complained of a problem following race two, yet he still managed to cop a fine. Leung was double booked for Space Race and Trend Master in the eighth event, and ultimately rode neither but was HK$2,000 lighter afterwards. Stewards had a light day but the vets didn't - Wiser, All Delight and Ponderosa bled and there was high occurrence of heart irregularities - Ferrabosco, Craig's Pride, Elite Fortune and Ponderosa.
