Kit Ho (left) has been working in the insurance industry for three years. Currently, she works as a team manager at Prudential Assurance, Hong Kong. Ho says that she really enjoys her work, because it helps those in need. She talks to Chiu Po-sze

What is your academic background?

A bachelor's degree in social sciences from Hong Kong Baptist University.

How do you start your day?

I check my e-mails and plan for the day. I follow up on cases and any problems my team members might have. I advise them if they need it.

What does your job entail?

To offer good financial planning to my clients, according to their needs, budgets, abilities and wishes.

What are your major challenges?

To keep up-to-date with the latest information. This is to make sure I can take care of my clients' needs 100 per cent. We are not merely selling a product, we are also offering protection to our clients.

What have you learned about your career? What are your plans?

I pay more attention to the news, to keep abreast with what is happening in society. And I've learned to lead my team of three young and energetic members. As for my plans, I hope my team will become bigger as the more team members you have, the better.

Any advice for those who are planning to enter your industry?

Yes - work hard and never fear failure. Cultivate a positive attitude. Be genuine with your clients, and try to develop closer relationships with them. Don't be too focused on money, as it will only make things worse.
