Master of Professional Accounting OUHK Lee Shau Kee School
The Open University of Hong Kong's (OUHK) Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration, in co-operation with the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), is offering the master of professional accounting for those with business background and would like to learn more about accounting.
'Since students are new to accounting, the programme is very similar to an undergraduate [course in] accounting,' says the programme leader, Dr Nigel Leung, noting a growing demand among business people to learn about accounting, as it is an integral part of operations.
The master's course provides a full scope of training in accounting, including audit theory and practice, strategic management accounting, financial reporting and corporate law.
'Graduates of the programme are also able to fulfil the academic qualifications [required by] the HKICPA to become a certified accountant,' Leung says, adding that the course took a practical approach when it comes to teaching.
'We offer many case studies for students to put them in real-life situations as an accountant,' he says.
