Febby Avianto, vice chair - client advisory (Southeast Asia), Bank Sarasin
Avianto, who resides in Singapore, joined Bank Sarasin from UBS in December 2009. Previously, he was with Citigroup Private Banking in Jakarta, and at ABN AMRO Private Banking, Citibank, and Bank PDFCI. Avianto has a master's degree in marketing from the Katholike Universiteit, the Netherlands, and a bachelor's degree in economic management from the Indonesian Christian University.
Pearl Lam, special counsel, Withers
Lam is a private client lawyer who specialises in estate planning, structuring tailor-made trust vehicles for large Asian families with worldwide assets for tax-efficient and succession planning. She also advises on corporate reorganisation and charitable trusts. '[Lam] is a seasoned practitioner. She brings our clients a wealth of international legal experience, especially given her Chinese language skills,' says Joseph Field, Withers' senior regional partner in Asia. 'Withers recognises that as individual wealth grows in Hong Kong and mainland China, so too does the need for individual legal advice. [Lam], together with Rita Ku, a family law specialist, [and] Laurence Ho and Lian Fang - US taxation and estate planning experts - will enhance our offering.' Lam qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 1987.
Polly Lam, managing director and head - China, Bank Sarasin
Lam joined Bank Sarasin in May 2009 from UBS, where she managed a substantial portfolio, focusing mainly on the China market. Prior to joining the Swiss banking and financial services group, she worked at DBS. Lam will spearhead Bank Sarasin's strategic development in China. She holds a master's of business in finance from Birmingham University and a bachelor's degree in economics from Shue Yan University in Hong Kong. Lam is a China national residing in Hong Kong.
