GLOBAL software leader Microsoft has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China, paving the way for the development of the Chinese version of its next-generation 'Windows '95' operating system.

Under the terms of the MOU with the Ministry of Electronics Industry (MEI), the American giant will partner Chinese companies to design and launch the software.
