It was love at first sight for actor Moses Chan Ho at the grand opening of the flagship Ferrari and Maserati showroom in Repulse Bay.

He became instantly inseparable from Ferrari's latest mid-rear-engined convertible, the 458 Spider, after its unveiling by Edwin Fenech, CEO of Ferrari Greater China, and Dr Richard Lee, chairman of distributor Italian Motors.

The actor - whose character in the TVB series When Heaven Burns drives a Maserati - admired the pearl-coloured car, and hopped into the driver's seat to pose for the cameras with a big boyish grin. Luckily the keys were not in the ignition, or Chan would surely have taken it for a spin.

'When I get the chance, I do like to drive my convertible around Hong Kong. Some of the roads here are uniquely suited for it,' he said.

He also recounted how he once forgot to take off a period drama wig as he drove home from work in his convertible. 'Halfway home, I realised it was attracting too much attention, so I pulled a woolly hat over it, and my head looked like an inverted ice-cream cone.'
