If Hong Kong Disneyland's rules applied to the firm's cast of characters, quite a few wouldn't make the cut.

Doc from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and Peter Pan villain Captain Hook, with his scraggly black facial hair, would not meet the park's 'well-trimmed' requirement.

Despite being personable, Uncle Remus from Song of the South would also be out of the running. Merlin from The Sword and the Stone, whose white beard touches his feet, would have needed all his magical powers to get a job.

Captain Nemo (played by James Mason) in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea could be faulted for his dastardly ways, but it's his sea dog's beard that would rule him out.

And there won't be a place for the furry Beast from Beauty and the Beast until he finds true love and changes into a handsome, clean-cut prince.
