A manhunt is under way early this morning after a 15-year-old girl was reportedly raped in a Wan Chai alley at around 6.30pm near a busy shopping area yesterday.
It is the second such incident in five days, after a 21-year-old woman was raped in an Ap Lei Chau market before dawn last Thursday.
In yesterday's rape, the 15-year-old girl sought help from a nearby shop after the attack, police said.
The girl told police that a South Asian man grabbed her from behind and dragged her into a back alley off a building on No 126 Wan Chai Road near Johnston Road, and she had passed out in the attack. She was admitted to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Chai Wan.
Police are looking for a fat South Asian suspect, aged 30 to 40 with long hair, who wore dark clothing. Anyone with information should contact 2860 7833 or 9712 5841.
The crime scene was still cordoned off early this morning and detectives from the Hong Kong Island regional crime unit were investigating, while scores of police tactical unit officers were conducting a search. Shoppers nearby were also interviewed, police said.
