Fourth candidate for top job steps forward

A fourth candidate for chief executive, a consultant with the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute, put his name forward yesterday. Professor Yu Wing-yin, a former Trade Development Council economist, said that, if elected, he would rejuvenate the city through science and technology, with a doubling of education resources and funded university places.

Man in court over Sheung Shui chopping

Wong Pat-tat, 53, appeared in Fanling Court charged with the chopping murder of Lee Kai-kwong, 57, in Sheung Shui on Monday. The case was adjourned to February 15 and Wong was remanded in custody at the Siu Lam Psychiatric Centre.

Cathay warns of 29-hour ticket sales blackout

Cathay Pacific will be unable to sell or modify tickets between 3pm on February 11 and 8pm the next day while a new system is installed.
