Elaine Chan, chief health and protection officer, AXA Hong Kong

Chan has more than 20 years' experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining AXA, she spent eight years at AIA, where she was the vice-president and head of the corporate solutions department. She had also worked with Manulife, CIGNA and BUPA. Brian West, MD and partner - reputation management (Asia Pacific), Fleishman-Hillard

Singapore-based West will also co-lead the company's global crisis communications practice and response team. With more than 30 years experience in consultancy, corporate and government roles, his appointment is the latest in a series of strategic regional appointments by the firm. 'As one of the world's top crisis management firms, on any given day our crisis experts are managing dozens of major issues across our global network,' says Fleishman-Hillard president and CEO Dave Senay. '[West] will strengthen our cutting-edge, systematic approach in response to rapidly expanding client needs.' West ran Hill and Knowlton's Asia Pacific business from 1991 to mid-2005 and sat on the agency's global board. Most recently, he ran Burson-Marsteller Australia for more than four years.

Alger Fung, chief proprietary distribution officer, AXA Hong Kong

In his new expanded role, Fung will spearhead AXA's proprietary distribution channel, comprising the agency force, Swiss Privilege and Integrity, the firm's franchise platform. He has 19 years' experience in the insurance and financial industry, including 13 years with AXA. He was promoted to chief agency officer in July 2009. Under his leadership, the unit achieved outstanding results in terms of productivity and manpower growth.

Benjamin Li, chief partnership distribution officer, AXA Hong Kong

As part of his expanded role, Li will oversee the development of AXA's relationship with its distribution partners, including financial intermediaries, brokers (non-life), direct sales and tele-marketing and the business development unit. Li joined AXA in June 2006 as head of financial intermediaries, handling distribution of AXA products through brokers and independent financial advisers. He was promoted to chief of pension and broker channel in December 2010.
