Master Ho hands apprentice a gift-wrapped birthday present

Apprentice Ben So Tik-hung was given a 26th birthday present by master Peter Ho Leung in the form of a ride on Healthy Blueberry in a Class Four on the dirt. So hustled up from gate one on the speedy five-year-old and took control over the extended dirt mile to record the gelding's fourth career victory and his 16th for the season. 'It was a birthday gift, I told him he had a big chance to win this race,' Ho said. 'Before the race I said 'this is your birthday present' and he did his job properly. With that spot on the fence I was confident, especially with the horse in front of him carrying a big weight. The draw helped him a lot and he carried a featherweight, so that's why he was able to win.'
