Secondary market home sales up 91pc in a week

Home sales in the secondary market jumped 91 per cent last week as pent-up demand from genuine buyers triggered a sharp rebound in transactions, according to Ricacorp Properties. Sales in the 50 largest private housing estates monitored by Ricacorp rose to 401 in the week to February 12, compared with 210 a week earlier. 'The explosive growth in sales volume was largely dominated by end-users. The secondary market benefited from the strong responses to several new projects. The positive sentiment will certainly further lift the secondary transactions this week,' David Chan, director of estate agency at Ricacorp, said. Last week, 58 flats changed hands at estates monitored on Hong Kong Island, up from 27 the previous week. Sandy Li
