Paris is the best location in the world for education, followed by London and Boston, according to an educational benchmarking agency.

Hong Kong tied with Tokyo for the 19th place in the Best Student City chart compiled by researchers behind the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings.

Researchers looked at the cities' university rankings, quality of life, student mix, tuition fees, living costs, and employment prospects for university graduates.

QS said Hong Kong performed reasonably strongly in elements such as university rankings and student mix.

Another survey conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit showed Hong Kong was becoming more affordable. The city's living cost was ranked 22nd in the world, down from 14th last year.
