Schwarzkopf - Professional Essensity Intensive Repair Mask (HK$196/200ml)

Claim: formulated for extremely damaged hair, this cream-gel contains organic essence of goji berry and natural soya protein. It has no artificial fragrance and is free from chemicals such as paraffin and parabens.

Bumble and Bumble - Creme de Coco Masque (HK$190/150ml)

Claim: tropical balms, coconut oil and murumuru butter deliver shine and softness, while milk thistle and mallow extract have antioxidant properties that strengthen hair. Suitable for all hair types, except the very fine, and compatible with coloured hair. From Joyce Beauty.

Lush - Jasmin and Henna Fluff-Eaze (HK$229/220g)

Claim: contains Persian henna for shine, jasmine for fragrance and conditioning oils including soya, olive, wheatgerm and coconut oils for a silky finish. It also features ylang ylang oil, which is not only good for your tresses but also soothing to the nerves. For normal to dry hair, damaged or fluffy hair.

Verdict: both Schwarzkopf's and Bumble and Bumble's rich formulations are surprisingly non-greasy, leaving the hair soft and fresh. Schwarzkopf's gel-cream further gives a natural bounce, while Bumble and Bumble's coconut scent is pleasant. Lush's mask delivers shine, but also makes it appear flatter. Its long-lasting jasmine scent could be overwhelming for some. All three products improve fluffy or frizzy hair.
