Selesner adds online shop to portfolio

Business has been good for Hong Kong-based model-cum-television presenter Lisa Selesner. Her online subscription service for beauty products, Glamabox, launched an online shop called Glamashop last night with a party at fashion emporium Central/Central.

Instead of waiting for a monthly delivery of beauty and cosmetic samples to arrive at your doorstep - chosen by staff based on your profile - subscribers to Glamabox can now buy their favourite products using the online shop.

'It's been doing much better than I expected,' Selesner said. 'We had wanted to add the online shopping feature from the very beginning.'

She has even thought about expanding the beauty business by organising deliveries on the mainland. 'It's both exciting and scary at the same time because of the massive population of China,' she said.

There is also a chance that Selesner may give up modelling altogether before too long. 'Instead of modelling, I really want to push hard to get more work as a TV host, but the jobs come in spurts. So I'm really happy to have the time to do Glamabox. I'm enjoying [life in the limelight] but I'm also building this business that's going to be at the forefront of my life when I have to step away, maybe 10 years down the road.'

Plans to expand her family with film star husband Daniel Wu Yin-cho remain in motion.

'I sleep in the same bed as my husband. That dream [of having a baby] is always there.'
