If you thought the Americans had the monopoly on luxe tees, think again. Launched in 2005, French brand American Vintage has become a cult favourite with fashion insiders. Now the brand has opened its first Asia store, in Hong Kong. The 700 sq ft boutique stocks the brand's complete line of luxe basics for men and women, including tees, trousers, jackets, blouses, underwear and accessories. Known for natural fabrics, modern fits, an edgy colour palette and fashion-forward details, the best-selling tees are cool either layered or worn on their own. The spring-summer 2012 collection is all about eye-popping colours, such as fluorescent yellow, electric blue and fuchsia. Other separates, such as shorts and skirts, are covered in ethnic and retro-inspired floral prints that are bang on trend.
