Diamond-studded affair brings out celebrities

Benny Do Yuen-ling, chairman of WCJ (Holdings) Co, and his family have been in the jewellery trade since 1963. This year the group is launching a new label, AQUEEN, to tap the upper end of the market.

The brand hosted an event on Friday evening in Hullett House's Tea Room at Tsim Sha Tsui's Heritage 1881. The star-studded affair attracted a bevy of celebrities including models Janet Ma Sze-wai, Ava Yu Kiu and Jennifer Tse Ting-ting, and designer William Tang, who has been appointed art consultant for AQUEEN's brand development.

To coincide with the brand launch, a special collection titled 'the butterfly' was also unveiled. While Tse wore diamonds worth more than HK$1 million, it was model-actress Jacqueline Ch'ng who stole the show. The red-haired beauty turned up in a body-hugging, low-cut gown. Although she looked as radiant as usual, Ch'ng said she still had not quite got over Valentine's Day, which she spent alone.
