G-Star Raw draws celebrities to HK opening of Dutch brand's biggest store in the world
Netherlands-based designer-denim brand G-Star Raw hosted a day of celebratory activities for the grand opening of its largest flagship store in the world in the Leighton Centre.
Located across the street from locally owned I.T Hysan One, the G-Star Raw boutique occupies more than 7,000 sq ft of space in the Causeway Bay building.
The events kicked off in the afternoon with a fashion preview for the press, with models flown in from the Netherlands.
For the evening celebration, apart from the usual lion dance and champagne toast, stuntmen and women walked down the fa?ade of the building - like a toned down, but still exciting, scene from one of the Mission: Impossible films.
The party attracted a stellar turnout, with A-listers including Grammy-nominated American singer-songstress Skylar Grey, Australian model Alexandra Agoston and actress Gracie Otto flying in. The list of local stars included Aaron Kwok Fu-shing and Angelababy Yeung Wing.
A long queue formed outside the store and the hoopla prompted many passers-by to stop for a gander. But the VIPs were holed up on the first floor, sipping champagne.
