Injunction angers Mei Foo residents

Mei Foo Drum, a group of Mei Foo Sun Chuen residents, voiced opposition to the Court of First Instance's granting of an injunction to Billion Star Development barring protesters, including lawmaker 'Long Hair' Leung Kwok-hung and journalist Claudia Mo Man-ching, of the Civic Party, from rallying at the tower the developer is building there. The group said the defendants had not disrupted work but were charged nonetheless. Mo said she was considering lodging an appeal.

Bank of China warns of bogus text messages

Text messages advising recipients to collect Bank of China centenary banknotes at the bank's branches were bogus, a spokesman said. The Monetary Authority and police had been notified. Anyone who has suffered financial losses due to messages from +85268091419 should call the bank on 39882100.

Hongkonger dies after diving in Philippines

Hong Kong man Yung Tak-kong, 37, died on Saturday after being pulled unconscious from the water on Thursday during a dive with eight others off the Philippine resort Verde Island, south of Batangas City, the Philippine Coast Guard said.

Cathay pilot found dead after missing flight

A 52-year-old senior Cathay Pacific pilot, Canadian Mike Coyston, was found dead at staff quarters at the airline's Chek Lap Kok headquarters after he failed to show up for a flight.
