Having a ball to mark charity's 25th year

The Hong Kong Cancer Fund's annual charity ball, one of the city's grandest and most anticipated social events, adopted a glamorous, 1920s' cruise-inspired theme for its 25th anniversary. The ball was held at ArtisTree in Quarry Bay on Saturday and attracted about 500 guests.

As this year's principal sponsor, luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton, made a donation to help expand the charity's Rainbow Club, which supports children whose parents have been diagnosed with cancer.

Guests were entertained by swing crooner Henry de Winter and 'queen of burlesque' Lily Verlaine.

A unique Louis Vuitton Malle Courrier 110 trunk and limited-edition vintage Moet & Chandon champagne were auctioned to raise funds.

A total of HK$7.5 million was raised at the ball.
